Optachlor
Optachlor is made up of Chloramphenicol Ophthalmic Solution and is used for ocular infection caused by Bacterium coli, Hemophilus influenza, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus hemolyticus and others, such as trachoma, conjunctivitis, keratitis, blepharitis simplex and etc.

Drop(NRN:A4-2011): Each bottle or 10 mL contains 50 mg of Chloramphenicol.

Indications
It is used for ocular infection caused by Bacterium coli, Hemophilus influenza, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus hemolyticus and others, such as trachoma, conjunctivitis, keratitis, blepharitis simplex and etc.
Precautions/Warnings
1. It may cases optic neuritis or intraocular optic neuritis (especially for young child) if large dose usage for a long time (over 3 months). Patients with long time usage, should check the ocular region first, and pay attention to visual function. It should stop using once occur optic neuritis, meanwhile take vitamin Band vitamin C
2. It must protect eyes from touch the bottle when drop, twist the bottle cap tight after use.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicaments:
It may occur antagonistic action when combined with macrolide antibiotic such as torlamician or lincomycin, so don’t use them together.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Chloramphenicol has serious bone marrow depression action, It may be cause newborn infant and sububeres occur adverse reaction after pregnant woman and woman in lactation use, so should be used cautiously.
Adverse Effects
It may be occur allergic response or ocular region stimulation.
Dosage & Administration
One or two drops every time, two to five times daily.
Storage/Handling Recommendations
Preserve in tightly sealed containers, protected from light. Shelf life: 1 year.
